Contracorriente plot

In a Peruvian seaside village, Mariela and Miguel are expecting their first child. When the artist Santiago comes to live in the village, Miguel secretly falls in love with him. The openly gay Santiago is not accepted by the villagers, which further complicates Miguel's love. After a tragic accident, Miguel must choose between his tempestuous love for Santiago or the straitjacket of his traditional but peaceful marriage.
