Comfortably Numb plot

When Jake is finally confronted about his alcoholism by friends and family, he is sent to rehab. In the clinic he encounters people with all kinds of addictions, people who try to be normal, but who are trapped in their addictions. Jake refuses much of the help, but finds comfort in another patient, Emma, who comes in with a cocaine addiction. The two begin a forbidden relationship that causes further problems, as Jake fails to understand that his dependence on the relationship with Emma is actually an obstacle to his rehabilitation. Jake then decides to leave the clinic and fight his addiction in his own way.
