Cloudstreet plot

Shortly after Sam Pickles loses five fingers in an accident, he inherits a spacious house in the city of Perth, in western Australia. Sam is an incorrigible gambler, his wife Dolly is drinking and daughter Rose is showing signs of anorexia. They rent half of the house to the God-fearing farming family Lamb. For twenty years, both families will remain under one roof.
