Closer to the Moon plot
Bucharest, 1959. A spectacular bank robbery shakes the country. In post-war communist Romania, it is an unpredictable slap in the face for the authorities, who rule with an iron fist. Four men and a woman are arrested, tried, convicted and, awaiting execution, forced to participate in a propaganda film about the crime. All five protagonists were heroes of the resistance during World War II and high-ranking members of Romanian society. They knew in advance that they would be caught and executed. Then why did they do it?
