Chuquiago plot
Isico arrives with his parents at the market of the city 'Chuquiago' (= the Indian name for La Paz). He is 'lent' to a market woman to earn a living as an assistant. He makes his first explorations in the metropolis. Johnny is the son of a mason, despises his parents' culture and wants to move up the ladder. But he doesn't get much further than stealing. Carlos is a civil servant and alternates his monotonous existence with nightly entertainment. Patricia is a university student and rich man's daughter, who is nevertheless interested in the progressive ideas that are emerging at the university. Her parents want her to get married in her own environment.
