Choices plot

19-year-old Terry Granger turns out to be pregnant. Thinking she's not ready for motherhood, she considers an abortion without her boyfriend's knowledge. Her father, however, a 62-year-old retired judge, discovers her situation and is strongly against abortion in general. When his own second wife also turns out to be pregnant, this puts him in a difficult position, since they had agreed not to have any more children.
