Cest a Sláva plot

Bohemia, 1648. After the failed Protestant revolt, the country was devastated and the nobles were executed, exiled or forced to convert back to Catholicism. Once a powerful nobleman, Václav Rynda is now the ruler of a tiny patch of worthless land. He lives in constant poverty, with no family and with only a small number of servants and he has accepted this. However, when a friendly noble couple unexpectedly comes to visit him, old wounds are reopened.
