Lucie, a young art history student, investigates the work of the painter Watteau. She is convinced that some of his canvases are hiding a secret that has never been revealed. Her encounter with the enigmatic Vincent, who has been mute since birth, throws her investigation into disarray. But when Vincent falls into a coma, she becomes increasingly engrossed in a mysterious intrigue that began two centuries ago.
