Catch a Wave plot
Taiyo, a 16-year-old high school student, and his two best friends Taguchi and Kobayashi are vacationing without their parents at Taguchi's vacation home in Shonan, a coastal town just outside of Tokyo. Overwhelmed by the wide ocean and the surfers who conquer the waves, Taguchi loses the key to their holiday home on the beach. After hours of searching, the three fall asleep on the beach, where they are awakened the next day by experienced surfer Duke Kawahara. Duke offers them a place to sleep, if they help him in his surf shop.
