Sydney Clarke is a spoiled, well-known actress. During the shooting of her latest movie, she has a tantrum and runs away. She ends up in a town in New England. Unexpectedly, she finds a friend in Joyce, the waitress at a bowling shop. In the same case she meets Ben, the owner of a small steel company. Much to her surprise, she takes a job as a nurse at Ben's company.
