Captain Macklin plot

"A FOUR-PART MUTUAL MASTERPIECE"

Royal Macklin, a cadet at West Point, is fired for a misdemeanor. Beatrice's father, Macklin's lover, orders her to break off the engagement. Macklin then goes to Honduras, where a revolution is underway, and joins General Laquerre's patriotic army in the fight against Alvarez and his rebels. He proves his mettle in battle and saves General Laguerre's life. But Beatrice and her father, having discovered that Macklin was actually innocent of the charges that led to his dismissal, are in Honduras and have been captured by Alvarez.
