Canada Russia '72 plot
In 1972, a historic series of ice hockey games is staged between the top Canadian star professional players of the National Hockey League against the best players from the Soviet Union. Although Canada and the Soviet Union regularly met at the amateur level, most of Canada is convinced that the Soviets will not be able to resist the Canadian professionals. However, this assumption is shattered when Canada is penalized in the first game by the team from the Soviet Union. What follows is a bitter struggle as Team Canada tries to recover in a series of matches that will change Canadian self-image and history forever.
