Camarades plot

22-year-old Yan tries to find his way in life. One of his ideals is to find a job that he really loves. Like his father, an unambitious workman, he vegetates in his hometown of Saint-Nazaire. His fiancée, Juliette, dreams of a middle-class life and a happy and comfortable marriage. Unwillingly, he travels to Paris, where he works on an assembly line at the Renault factory. Sick of the working conditions under which he and his employees have to perform, he slowly becomes a left-wing activist.
