Caina plot
"Adapted, at first into a theatre play, and now into a film from Davide Morgante’s book by the same name,"
Caina is a former hit man. She is a xenophobic and violent person. She hates people who don't share the same physical or cultural characteristics: immigrants and Muslims. Her summer job is guarding the beach and cleaning up the corpses of illegal immigrants who have drowned off the coast. It's a lucrative business so she has a lot of competition. Nahiri, a Tunisian man, is one of her illegal competitors. He works with a group of illegal immigrants who steal Caina's corpses and sell them on the black market. To increase profits, it is not rare for them to drown people who have survived. It's a brutal world where sometimes opposites attract.
