Young Daisy and Teddy marry and settle in India, where Teddy is stationed as an army doctor. Not long after their wedding, their family is expanded with a son. While Daisy is pregnant again, their fledgling happiness is disrupted by the outbreak of World War II. Teddy is transferred to Singapore and Daisy returns to Canada.
