Brecht plot
Berthold Brecht from Augsburg, a rather sickly and shy, but also bold and above all gifted student, plans to hold up a mirror to the world. "I'll show the world what it is like, but what it really is," and his friends believe him. However, the road there is littered with many obstacles. Berthold Brecht can no longer stay in Switzerland and West Germany would rather lose him than get rich. An offer from the Deutsches Theater in East Berlin comes at just the right time. He feels at home in the rubble of the bombed-out Reichscapital.
