Blóðbönd plot
Pétur is a successful optician in Reykjavik and his wife Asta is expecting their second child. When their ten-year-old son Örn faints while playing football, he is taken to the hospital, where an investigation shows that he is not Pétur's biological son. Pétur runs away from his family and checks into a hotel to reconsider his crumbling marriage. He starts drinking heavily and starts an affair with his secretary Anna, twenty years his junior. His brother-in-law agrees, but his sister is disgusted by his new life.
