Bim plot
"One man's struggle to come to terms with the society that has alienated him."
Bim Singh is a teenager of Indian descent living in the countryside in central Trinidad during the British colonial era. After his father Bhagwan, a sugar cane workers' union leader, is shot dead during his sister's wedding, he is sent to live in Belmont, Port, with his aunt Babsie and her husband Balo. At his new school, Bim is left out and bullied by the students because of his heritage. When the tension builds, he is forced to stab one of the students in self-defense. Due to this incident, Bim is thrown out of school and from his aunt's house and is forced to lead a life of violence and crime in order to survive.
