Bebop plot
Bebop is a jazz style that is difficult to understand, in which complex rhythms and harmonies vary on a theme. This theme can change after a solo. In the same way, Bebop is put together. Sidelines and a flashback are the solos that shift the enigmatic theme. The main character of Bebop is a nameless girl who ends up in the countryside from the hectic city life. In associative images, often filmed close to the skin or with an extreme wide angle, the camera follows her in the various environments. Forests with dense undergrowth but also city districts with special architecture. In a schoolyard we hear her voice for the first time when she gives her opinion about her peers: losers and bitches. It is up to the viewer to determine the cause and effect of her behaviour. Why is she drawing hearts on her leg? Why does she not only steal gin, but also a hug from a farmer. And what exactly happened at the party that comes back in flashback?
