Arwad plot

After the death of his mother, Ali finds himself in an emotional crisis. Despite his nice family and good job, he feels like an outsider in his new country of Canada. But a return to his birthplace Arwad offers no solace either. While on the island with his mistress Marie, Ali drowns during a nighttime swim. Is it an accident or suicide? Both Marie and wife Gabrielle struggle with this question, which they must answer on their own. Gabrielle has to carry on with her two daughters, Marie can't talk to anyone about Ali.
