Arends plot

Dramatized biography of Jan Arends (1925-1974), a Dutch poet, who, plagued by depression, ended his life in 1974 by jumping out of the window of his rented room on Amsterdam's Roelof Hartplein. The film starts in the year before his death and looks back on his life while we witness the mental decline of the main character.
