"To write the perfect thriller I had to get into the mind of a murderer. Now I can't get out."

Mitchell Osgood dreams of becoming a famous writer, but the book he has written is constantly rejected by publishers. When psychopath Albert Merrick is released from prison after 15 years, Osgood's writing about his criminal history may seem like his breakthrough. Though Merrick refuses to talk at first, Osgood offers him a job in his bookstore.
