Alaap plot
The widower and lawyer Triloki Prasad lives a rich life in a small town in India with his two sons Ashok, also a lawyer and married to Geeta, and the single and unemployed Alok. Alok wants to go into the music business, but his father wants him to become a lawyer too and arranges for him a job at a law firm. However, Alok spends all his time in the slums with the former courtesan named Sarju Bai Banaraswali. When his father finds out, he takes drastic measures to force Alok to repent, even if it leads to death.
