"A progressive tale of love, marriage, and a man’s search for selfhood in the middle-class milieu of Kolkata."

Biman is an honest government official. He lives a happy life with his wife Mouli, but it is still a sore point in their ten-year marriage that the couple goes through life without children. Biman's deep commitment to his official duties slowly but inexorably creates a rift between him and his wife. Things change when Mouli's college friend visits their house.
