A Thousand Empty Glasses plot

In the 1930s, young Charlie travels to a small town in France, mainly to tell his friend Arthur that he is getting married soon. He meets Arthur's neighbors Oliver and Martha, also English expats. During an evening with four people with a little too much alcohol, long-held secrets surface.
