Jamal has just returned to Australia after spending 18 months in Syria. No one knows what he was doing or who he was with. Back in the country, he wants to see his terminally ill mother, but has to deal with his strong older brother Omar, his wife Heidi and their young son, but above all with his ruthless father. But why did Jamal really come back? Is he a militant with a purpose or an easy-to-lead pawn in a bigger global picture?
