Zaad plot
Based on the autobiographical story of filmmaker Dries Meddens, Zaad questions society's perception of manic depression. When his father dies, Dries begins to dig into his past. But the more he discovers, the less he can avoid the growing fear that his father's psychiatric illness is hereditary, passed down from grandfather to father to son. Is the seed in him too? And his children? Through family archives, conversations with a psychiatrist, and his life as a stay-at-home dad, Dries searches for a way out of this possible genetic fatality.
