WTO/99 plot

On November 30, 1999, over 40,000 protesters prepared for action in Seattle, Washington, during the conference of the fledgling World Trade Organization, a ministerial summit on international trade. The activists came from diverse political backgrounds—left and right, progressive and conservative—and represented a range of interests, from labor rights to environmental protection. Filmmaker Ian Bell reconstructs this four-day event using news broadcasts, home videos, press conferences, and outtakes.
