Where Heaven Meets Hell plot
The popular volcano Kawah Ijen, located on the Indonesian island of Java, is an important source of income for the local population. The active volcano is home to sulphur, which can be used, among other things, as a dye and preservative. Hundreds of miners come and go every day, the large lumps of yellow-colored sulfur in wicker baskets carrying on their shoulders. The heavy smoke billowing from the volcano creates a fairytale-like scene, but makes the working conditions even tougher than they already are. For Anto, one of the miners, the future of his son is paramount.
