Web Warriors plot
"The Global Battle in Cyberspace"
For the first time, Web Warriors gives us an unvarnished glimpse into the new and vulnerable world of cyberspace. With computer viruses one can now control millions of computers unbeknownst to their owners and use them to set up large-scale illegal computer networks, so-called "botnets". These "botnets" are used for illegal practices such as identity theft and cyber extortion. A massive internet attack on Estonia in 2007 brought almost the entire country to a standstill. In 'Web Warriors' internet sleuths from the FBI, the Pentagon and NATO have their say. In the interviews they explain how the internet has become a battlefield for nation states and how terrorist groups are preparing their next attack via cyberspace. Meanwhile, according to some reports, the Internet crime is equal to the amount involved in the illegal drug trade.
