Waste Land plot

"What happens in the world's largest trash city will transform you."

Filmed over a period of three years, Waste Land follows Brazilian artist Vik Muniz who returns to Brazil from his hometown of Brooklyn, to the world's largest waste dump, the Jardim Gramacho on the outskirts of Rio. This is where the 'catadores' live, groups of poor collectors of recyclable materials, with whom Muniz develops a bond.
