Volksvertreter plot
“We are going to win back our country and our people,” a leader of Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) tells his party colleagues in 2017. It is a celebration, as the right-wing populist party, founded four years earlier, storms into the Bundestag with 94 seats. With that, the AfD becomes the third-largest party in parliament in one fell swoop.
