Venice Elsewhere plot

The dream as the ultimate escape in a torn and globalized world. A longing for Venice, the city that is slowly succumbing to tourists and water. Anthropologist and filmmaker Elia Romanelli goes in search of remote places in Europe that are named after Venice. Where the inhabitants harbor a silent desire to one day visit the city where they have never been. In the style of Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities, Romanelli poses the question: how does a city live on in our imagination?
