Vaveragrogh plot
In black and white, documentary maker Harutyun Khachatryan gives his gloomy view of his homeland Armenia, one of the former Soviet republics that ended up in an economic, political and social crisis after independence. The film was originally intended as a 'classic documentary' about a country torn by war and unemployment, where poverty, mass emigration, alcoholism and crime are the order of the day. Due to a lack of money, the maker had to adapt his ideas and the result, after six years, is a mosaic of documentary episodes and docudrama elements.
