Transatlantique plot

Poetic film essay about life aboard a colossal freighter crossing the Atlantic Ocean. For the men who stay on it, the immense vessel is a home, workshop and playground at the same time. From fixed and sometimes alienating camera angles, everyday life on board the sailing microcosm is captured in black and white: the hard work in the impressive interior of the ship, the moments of relaxation with a board game or a game of improvised cricket, but also the ubiquitous , indifferent water that puts the tanker's size into perspective.
