Tokyo Waka plot
An urban poem about Tokyo, its 13 million inhabitants and the 20,000 crows that observe them from above. After the population of the black birds exploded in recent years, the city government decided to intervene. Crows were captured, and their nests were destroyed. But the birds eventually managed to adapt, mirroring the constantly moving metropolis in which they live. Several Tokyo residents, including an ornithologist, a Buddhist priest and a homeless woman, share countless facts, anecdotes and folkloric tales about the tough crows.
