'Tik Van De Meule' is the name of a pirate radio station that operates from a shack at a farm in Sint Jansklooster in the province of Overijssel. Pallie and Venti are the driving forces, Cor keeps the station (literally) on the air and friends drop by the studio to have a beer, while listening to the Dutch (pirate) music that most radio stations ignore. Lassche followed the programme makers in the run-up to the local flower parade and a village festival in a tent for 4,000 people. It provides some insight into village life in the east of the country (the proverbial "province"), but Lassche uses a lot of shots of empty beer bottles and even shows a tractor delivering a pallet of beer! Does that confirm the prejudices about the province? Perhaps, but you can also wonder why the men don't clean up the empty beer bottles. Especially since this documentary has nothing (or should have) to do with beer.
