Things I Could Never Tell My Mother plot

The mother of filmmaker Humaira Bilkis was once an independent woman who, against the Bengali mores, chose her own surname over that of her husband. She even wrote liberal poems. But after a pilgrimage to Mecca, she turned into a strict Muslim woman who quotes from the Koran incessantly. Because of the love for her husband and children, the atmosphere in the house remains pleasant.
