The Wedding Camels plot

In 1974 David and Judith MacDougall travel to Kenya to visit the Turkana tribe. In this documentary, the viewer sees how a wedding in the village comes about. A farm girl, Akai, is getting married to Kongu, an old friend and peer of her father, Lorang. Due to the close ties between Lorang and Kongu, everything must run smoothly, but the pressure within the two families is such that the marriage negotiations become increasingly tense and almost fail. Controlling the number and type of animals to be given as dowries is difficult.
