The Vanishing Spring Light plot

West Street is located in Dujiangyan City in Southwestern China's Sichuan Province. Its history goes back more than two millennia. Director Yu Xun charts the old community of West Street and follows Granny Jiang in her last days. The everyday conversations with the filmmaker about her health and children appear to have a tragic undertone. This matriarch of an ordinary Chinese family has suffered a stroke after an accidental fall. Sitting in front of her house, she complains about her poverty and the lack of attention from her four children. As her health deteriorates, suppressed conflicts within the family surface. While Grandma Jiang is preoccupied with her illness, the family tries to keep things together.
