The Union plot
In 2009, Elton John calls his 1970s mentor and tour partner, Leon Russell, and invites him to record a collaborative album. At the beginning of 2010, the camera is in John's studio. He gently accompanies an almost burned-out Russell, who is recovering from brain surgery, with composing, playing and singing. Neil Young, Brian Wilson and Booker T. Jones come for a day or two to record some songs. T Bone Burnett produces it. In October 2010 the CD 'The Union' is ready for release and there will be a concert in Boston. Archive footage shows the young rockers being interviewed by Cameron Crowe .
