The Store plot

"The Inner-Workings of a Department Store"

Christmas season at the Nieman-Marcus department store in Dallas. In his well-known cinéma vérité style, Wiseman unravels all aspects of trade: selection, presentation, marketing, pricing policy, advertising and sales. As a saleswoman in the film says, working for Nieman-Marcus is not a job but a profession of faith. Wiseman takes us through the wide range of consumer goods that can be found here, such as designer clothing, jewellery, perfumes and shoes, but also sports equipment, electronics, porcelain, etc. A penetrating look behind the scenes of the management of a super store.
