The Silent Majority Speaks plot
The presidential elections held in Iran on June 12, 2009 caused great turmoil. Supporters of Mousavi, the most reformist of the four candidates admitted, hoped for a victory, but the official result put incumbent conservative President Ahmadinejad ahead. Reports of large-scale electoral fraud led to demonstrations, riots and violent counteractions that resulted in deaths. Numerous cameras, often from mobile phones, filmed the events. These spontaneous recordings form the backbone of the documentary The Silent Majority Speaks, composed by an anonymous collective. Young Iranians are passionately demonstrating their hope for change.
