The Rat Race plot

For every human living in Mumbai (fourteen million), there are about six rats. Since 1967, the municipality has set up a special department dedicated to reducing this number. Armed with a stick and a garbage bag, the men of the NRK (Night Rat Killers) take to the streets every night to rid the city of its small furry inhabitants, who not only increase the risk of infectious diseases but also do a lot of damage by destroying and eating, for example, market merchandise.
