The Mascot plot

The story of Alex Kurzem, a Russian Jew who escaped from his village at the age of five during World War II when the rest of the inhabitants, including his mother, were shot by the Nazis. He wandered alone for two months until he was found by enemy Latvian soldiers. They gave Alex a new name and made him their mascot. Later, he was adopted by a wealthy Latvian family and appeared in propaganda films.
