The Long March plot

The British Leon Greenman, born in 1910, is a lively elderly Jew with a very good memory and a catchy, never faltering narrative style. He has been telling the same story in schools since 1946: how he was taken from his home in Rotterdam with his wife and son on 8 October 1942 at half past nine, was transported to Westerbork, from there he was taken to the Birkenau concentration camp, where he last saw his wife and son and is today one of the few survivors of all twelve thousand Jews deported from Rotterdam.
