The Ister plot
"A 3000km journey up the Danube river to the heart of Europe."
'The Ister' is a journey of three thousand kilometers through the heart of Europe, from the mouth of the Danube to its source in the Black Forest. The film is based on the work of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger, an influential and controversial thinker, not least because of his links to National Socialism. Philosophical reflections by thinkers such as Nancy, Stiegler and Lacoue-Labarthe are interspersed with beautiful images of an epic journey through the heart of Europe.
