The Forgetting Game plot

The Forgetting Game tells the story of 5-year-old Beate Kernke who, in 1963, made the first legal and peaceful crossing to the other side of the Berlin Wall. This after intense negotiations between the Red Cross and the East German government. Escorted by Neil Clark of the American Red Cross, Beate left her grandparents' house where she stayed for two years to temporarily join the Clark family in West Berlin. Shortly afterwards, Beate moved to the United States where she was reunited with her mother and stepfather.
