Can a dream of your own death make you sick? Director Amy Hardie thinks so. At least if you really start to believe in that dream. 'The Edge of Dreaming' shows that this happened to her. One night, she wakes up with a start after dreaming that her horse died. She finds him dead in the fields around her house in the morning. Shortly afterwards she is told in a dream by the deceased father of her eldest daughter that her coming birthday will be her last, she gets the jitters. She doesn't want to believe in it, but it still won't let her go. The seed of fear has settled in her and is growing slowly but surely. Especially if she becomes ill and the cause is unclear. While she films the ebb and flow of family life and the changing seasons in her environment, she also delves into her richly documented past. Gradually, she becomes obsessed with the idea that she will die.
