The Conductor plot

"Music knows no boundaries"

Nowhere in the world of classical music is the glass ceiling more solid than above the lectern set up for an orchestra. According to a survey conducted a few years ago, only five percent of the world's major orchestras - there are about 750 - have a female chief conductor. The most famous is Marin Alsop who is the artistic director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In this documentary we see the prejudices she had to overcome to make it as a conductor, but also her generosity and vision on music.
